Why shoppers can’t get enough of these budget fragrances which smell identical to high-end counterparts: Aerre

When it comes to the crowded and long-established world of perfume, there are a few names that come to mind.

Chanel, Dior, Le Labo, Tom Ford… all of which are heady, sensuous, addictive and expensive.

But in 2026, you can get your hands on an Aussie brand’s budget signature scents — and shoppers say they smell exactly like their high-end counterparts.

When it comes to the bestsellers on the site, it’s hard to move past Sunset In Paris ($45), which is inspired by Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle and which retails for $210.

With a vibrant burst of citrus notes, a romantic heart of rose and jasmine, and a lingering allure of vetiver, vanilla, and oakmoss, Sunset in Paris is perfect for the woman seeking to make an unforgettable statement, just like Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle.

Bliss Release ($55) is another fan favourite on the website.

Inspired by MFK’s Baccarat Rouge 540 ($318), it combines fiery saffron harmonized with crackling cedarwood and alluring amber.

Others love After Hours ($49).

Inspired by the cult YSL’s Black Opium ($210), it’s perfect for those unforgettable nights out.

The perfume boasts a playful mix of pear and liquorice, followed by a captivating heart of orange blossom and jasmine, all warmed up by rich vanilla and bold black coffee.

Aerre Fragrances was born because the founders decided that smelling great shouldn’t cost the earth.

According to the founders, the perfume component in a bottle only costs around $3-5.

What you really end up paying for is retailer markups, fancy packaging and bottles, expensive marketing and celebrity endorsements.

They write on their website: “Now, while we love seeing Chris Hemsworth on a billboard as much as the next person, it just doesn’t make the perfume smell any better!”

All Aerre fragrances are all made in Provence, France, the same region many luxury brands manufacture their perfumes.

The perfumes are Extrait de Parfum concentration, and are made using 100 per cent vegan ingredients.
