For a long time knife blocks have been a pretty boring bulk-standard affair.
A chef’s knife, santoku, a bread knife and one or two pairing knives.

So how does it work?
Step one is picking your block.
There is a classic five slot wooden block, magnetic wall racks and even these really nice looking hexagonal blocks that can hold up to twelve knives.
I’m a simple man so the five slot wood block is my pick.
Step two is picking your knives. This is the hard part.
I like the look of the 17cm Santoku as a daily driver type knife and instead of a chef’s knife I would probably opt for a second Santoku, but the 20cm one.
Pairing knives are fun but the 15cm Utility Knife would be the one I’d grab and for the bread knife the 23cm Chef’s Bread Knife looks awesome.
To round out the block I would pick the 11cm Sandwich Knife.
It’s sharp, nimble and low key a really good option for avocados.
Now we’re cooking
A customisable knife block just makes sense, and having a block that is full of great knives that you’ll actually use is a game changer for home cooks.
