Weather was against her, but Australia’s Princess of Pop Kylie Minogue has soldiered on regardless to put on an epic show for the AFL’s grand final.
In front of an estimated 100,000 fans crammed into the MCG on Saturday, Kylie jammed in 12 of her biggest hits in the spectacular 20-minute performance.

She opened with I Should Be So Lucky before transitioning into Love At First Sight and In Your Eyes.
Get Out Of My Way, On A Night Like This and All The Lovers were also featured before the iconic Spinning Around.
Her performance of Confide In Me (accompanied by Indigenous artist William Barton and a string section) was particularly captivating.
She also performed Slow and Padam Padam (with the help of G Flip) before a blockbuster finish with Locomotion into Can’t Get You Out Of My Head.
There was no doubt Kylie was at her brilliant best, working the stage and the crowd in a high-octane performance, helped along by hundreds of dancers.
For the epic finish, Kylie soared above a huge “disco” Sherrin in the middle of the ground in a small cage … then floated around in the thick MCG air.
It was certainly a breathtaking finish, but there was a minor blunder at the end when she landed.
Kylie was stuck in the cage, with ground staff unable to unlock the safety catch for several seconds as the music played on.
Earlier the crowd erupted when she said mid-song, ”MCG, we love you!”
“This might be the best Grand Final performance ever. Kylie Minogue is nailing it,” one enthralled fan said on social media.
Regular AFL tweeter, Sam, said: “Kylie Minogue. 58 years old. Still an absolute superstar. That’s how you do Grand Final entertainment. Class, energy and hit after hit. She’s still got it.”
And another: “Kylie Minogue is 58, which is just insane because my grandpa had grey hair and wore cardigans at 6.”
And another: “Kylie Minogue still got it. Aced that gig.”
And another: “This Kylie Minogue set is incredible! Best pregame entertainment ever. Complete with #thelocomotion and a disco Sherrin.”
And another added: “Kylie minogue NAILING it … banger after banger.”
Fans were, however, a tad unkind about the performance from G Flip, who has been a regular at AFL and AFLW events.
“Does G flip exist outside of Australian sporting events or are they kept in a freezer underneath the mcg?” one fans asked.
And another said: “G-Flip the new Mike Brady.”
And another: “What is the AFL’s fascination with G Flip, was s*** the first time … Lucky Meat Loaf is not with us or they would roll him back out again.”
But G Flip also had supporters.
“Say what you want but G flip has a good voice, plays drums and the sax. Pretty impressive,” one fan said, and another added: “Don’t know much about G Flip, but that was sick.”
AFL grand final regular Mike Brady also put in an admirable performance, and fans at the ground did appear to be enjoying his annual rendition of Up There Cazaly..
“Mike Brady is sounding incredible, strong and clear ❤️,” one fan said.
And another: “OK, highlight of the day over now. Mike Brady has done his bit and my spine is tingling 🤩”
And another: “Mike Brady singing Up There Cazaly. Now that’s what it’s about.”
And another added: “Time for the moment we have been waiting for, Mike Brady brought out from the freezer for Up There Cazaly as the motorcade continues! Sing along Australia, everyone knows the song!”
