International cricket returns with the historic Australia v Bangladesh Test Series kicking off a huge 2026-27 cricket schedule, live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport.
From 9.30am AEST Thursday, August 13, Seven begins a blockbuster run of cricket spanning winter, spring, summer and autumn bookended by this week’s series against Bangladesh and the highly anticipated 150th Anniversary Test Match against England at the MCG in March 2027.
The Australia v Bangladesh Series marks a historic moment for Australian cricket, with Darwin hosting its first Test match since 2004, while Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay hosts its first ever men’s Test match from Saturday, August 22.

As a huge year gets underway, Seven has assembled cricket’s No.1 commentary team to deliver all the action live from Marrara Stadium and Great Barrier Reef Arena, headlined by world cricket’s most astute expert commentator Ricky Ponting.
Joining Ponting in Darwin will be expert commentators Matthew Hayden, Greg Blewett, Simon Katich, Will Pucovski and Trent Copeland, with Tim Lane and Alister Nicholson in ball-by-ball commentary.
Emma Freedman returns to host Seven’s coverage in the Top End, while Seven’s chief cricket reporter Tom Morris and journalist Bharat Sundaresan will be on site to report the biggest breaking news stories from within the Australian and Bangladesh camps.
Seven’s Darwin Test coverage begins at 9.30am AEST on Thursday, August 13 on Seven, 7mate and 7plus Sport, followed by 10am on the remaining days.
In Mackay, 7Cricket host and 7NEWS Sydney sport presenter Mel McLaughlin will steer Seven’s coverage, with commentary led by Ponting, Nicholson, Lane, Blewett and Katich alongside former Australian Test coach Justin Langer and former Australian T20 and ODI captain Aaron Finch.
